Wick & Wax Candle FAQs
"Eco luxury" refers to a concept where luxury products or services are created and offered with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. It combines the elements of luxury—such as high quality, exclusivity, and premium design—with eco-friendly practices that minimize environmental impact.
Coconut Apricot wax is a natural wax blend that combines coconut wax derived from the cold-pressed oil of coconuts and apricot wax made from the pit of the apricot fruit. Coconut wax is known for its clean-burning properties and its natural creamy white color. Apricot wax adds firmness and structure to the wax blend, helping candles maintain their shape and providing a smooth finish. Apricot wax is also known for its ability to blend well with other waxes and to hold fragrance effectively. The blend of these two waxes make for an extremely clean burning and eco friendly product.
Wood wicks typically produce less soot than cotton wicks. They burn cleaner, reducing the amount of residue that can accumulate on candle jars and surrounding surfaces. In addition, they create a unique crackling sound when burning, reminiscent of a fireplace.
To light a wood wick candle, hold a match or lighter to the wick for 5-10 seconds until it ignites. If the candle doesn't stay lit, try trimming the wick slightly.
This can happen if the wick is too long or too short. Ensure the wick is trimmed to about 1/4 inch. If it still doesn't stay lit, the wick may be buried under wax, so clear away some wax around the wick.
Due to the use of natural materials, we run the risk of natural defects. It is possible that a wood wick may be faulty and fail to stay lit for unknown reasons. If you experience this, please contact our team at hello@wickwaxapothecary.com so we can remedy.
For the first burn, let the candle melt to the edges of the container to prevent tunneling. This typically takes about 2 hours and is extremely important as wax holds a memory. After your initial burn, the wax will take a shorter amount of time to reach a full melt pool.
Store wood wick candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat to prevent melting and discoloration. Keep the lid on when not in use to maintain the scent.
Proper Candle Care
TIP: Quickly reference a few of these steps on the underside of your candle jar lid!
Always trim the wood wick to about 1/4 inch before each burn. This helps prevent excessive smoking and ensures a steady flame.
On the first use, burn the candle until the wax melts across the entire surface to the edges of the container. This helps prevent tunneling and promotes an even burn.
Burn your candle in a draft-free area to ensure an even burn and to prevent the flame from flickering excessively.
Limit each burn to 2-4 hours. This allows the wax to melt evenly and prevents the wick from becoming too long, which can cause smoke and soot.
To extinguish the candle, use a snuffer or gently blow it out.
NEVER use the lid to extinguish your flame!
If the wick is not lighting easily or if there is excess carbon buildup, gently scrape off the charred bits with a wick trimmer or nail clippers.
Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. This helps maintain the candle's scent and prevents the wax from softening or melting.
Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from flammable objects, children, and pets. Always place the candle on a heat-resistant surface.

Delivery times vary based on the shipping method selected. Standard shipping usually takes 5-7 business days, expedited shipping takes 2-3 business days, and express shipping typically takes 1-2 business days.
** Please note that with the delicate melting point of our coconut apricot wax candles, we will only be shipping orders Monday-Wednesday during the hotter summer months to ensure your candles arrive to you in the best condition! **
Unfortunately, we are only able to ship within the Domestic United States as of right now. Please sign up for our email list to be notified of future updates.
Once your order is shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number and a link to track your package. Please allow up to 48 hours for processing once your order is placed.
If your order has not yet been shipped, you can contact our team at hello@wickwaxapothecary.com to change the shipping address. Unfortunately, we cannot change the address once the order is shipped.
If your order hasn’t arrived within the estimated delivery time, please check the tracking information. If there are any issues, contact our customer service team for assistance.
We accept returns within 30 days of the delivery date. Products must be unused, in their original packaging, and in the same condition as when you received them. For more information please visit our Shipping & Returns page.

Unfortunately, as a new small business we are unable to offer free returns at this time.
Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will process your refund within 5-7 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is issued.
If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact our customer service immediately with your order number and a photo of the item. We will arrange for a replacement or refund.
If you receive an incorrect item, please contact our team immediately with your order number and details of the issue. We will arrange for a replacement or refund.
Sale items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged unless they are defective or damaged upon arrival.

While we strive for a fragrance balance that is pleasant and not overwhelming, any amount of fragrance can be irritating to someone with allergies or sensitivities.
