We dedicated No. 1 to the bees as they play a crucial role in pollinating plants, which helps maintain our ecosystems and food supply. To give back to the bees that produce our natural beeswax, we're including a small envelope of pollinator seeds with each purchase of a No. 1 candle. By planting these seeds, you'll help create more habitats for bees and other pollinators, supporting their health and sustainability. Help us make a positive impact on the environment and ensure that bees continue to thrive through the purchase of our 100% natural beeswax candle.

No. 1 Beeswax + Wood Wicks

Traditionally, you will see beeswax candles made with cotton wicks or in a pillar form rather than in a container. However, we love to break the mold. After testing numerous wicks, we found the cleanest burn with wood wicks. Due to the high density and melt point of beeswax, we've doubled the wick to ensure your flame burns hot enough to melt your wax to the glass so you can get the most out of your candle. When the wax cools, cracking is natural given the firm nature of beeswax and use of wood wicks.

Benefits of Beeswax

Air Ionization: When beeswax candles burn, they release negative ions into the air. These ions can bind with positively charged ions (like dust, pollen, mold spores, and other airborne particles), causing them to fall to the ground instead of staying suspended in the air. This process can effectively clean and purify the air in a room.

Natural Fragrance: Beeswax candles emit a natural, subtle honey fragrance derived from the nectar and pollen stored in the honeycomb, providing a pleasant aroma without the need for artificial scents. This gentle scent is calming and refreshing, creating a soothing and natural ambiance.

Long-Lasting: Beeswax has a higher melting point than other waxes, which means beeswax candles naturally burn at a slower rate, resulting in a longer burn time per candle. Although beeswax candles can be more expensive than other types of candles due to the cost of beeswax itself, their longer burn time can make them more economical in the long run.

Fun Facts About Bees

Did You Know?

Honeybees can sting, but they are generally not aggressive and will only do so if they feel threatened or if their hive is in danger. Unlike wasps or hornets, honeybees sting as a last resort because they die after stinging. For the most part, honeybees are safe for people to be around as long as they are not provoked. They are more interested in collecting pollen and nectar than interacting with humans. By maintaining a calm and respectful distance from honeybee hives, you can safely enjoy their presence and the important role they play in our ecosystem.
